Pro Form Treadmill: A Stud Or Dud?

The first thing that stands out about the Pro Form Treadmill is its' paltry three month warranty. This is simply not long enough, as most things that go wrong with your machine will happen after this period has expired.

Also, these models are known for breaking down easily, which you could probably surmise if the company ii only willing to cover expenses for three months. The motor is simply not large enough to handle heavier workouts, and in some instances, light workouts.

What it all comes down to is that Pro Form Treadmills are simply not very reliable, and regardless of how good the a warranty might be ( in this is the case not good) you don’t want to spend all your time having the treadmill in the shop and replacing parts, as it cuts down on your workout time and is just plain annoying.

I would say on the whole, if you don’t plan on using your Pro Form Treadmill too heavily and are not a serious runner, this model might do the trick. One of the good things about the proform is the number of options they offer, and the company is known for its’ imagination in making the machines.

There are many accessories and options you can get with your profom to get the model you want. If you do get one of these, make sure to take care of it by using the belt cleaner and lubricator, which can get your treadmill in top condition.

Another thing you might consider getting is the iFit program, something that many treadmill models use today. Basically, you download your workout program into the treadmill and it will track your  progress for you, but really, this is just overkill in my opinion. A simple pen and paper will suffice I keeping track of your progress.

Remember that proform sells more machines than any other treadmill maker around the globe, and they specialize in cheaper models. They go for a minimum price of four hundred, but obviously, you often times get what you pay for.

As I said earlier, one of the reasons the proform is so popular is that they do offer a lot of options for the price tag, which can make them appear to be a better value than they really are. One of these things is the add on TV you can get right on your machine, the iFit technology I alluded to earlier, just to name a few.

However, the only real way to measure a treadmill's effectiveness is by its' power, and durability. Quite simply, the Proform Treadmill is lacking in this regard. I would recommend you focus on other models if you are in the market for a new machine.
